Blood in the River
An elderly Garundi man with curly white hair and dark skin. He dresses in simple white robes and carries a plain walking stick topped with a clear crystal sphere. He is known for habitually staring at a long roll of blank parchment which he claims to use in his prophetic interpretations.
Some say Rakim is a soothsayer, a prophet chosen by the gods to foretell events that have yet to transpire and hidden truths to be revealed. Most think him mad, however, and either avoid or ignore the old man. He can always be found near the marketplaces and brothels, preaching madness or surreal insight, depending on your philosophic view. Some swear by his predictions, but whether Rakim gets his information by intuition, dumb luck or a true connection to a higher power is anybody’s guess.
